Master of Orion III goes gold

After not committing to a release date for the game following its missed holiday release schedule, Infogrames has today announced that Master of Orion III is complete and that it will ship to retail "as early as" February 25.

"Master of Orion III is the definitive game for building civilizations in space," says Nancy MacIntyre, vice president of marketing for Infogrames' Beverly, Massachusetts, studio. "This game offers a truly immersive experience into all of the science fiction mystery, intrigue, and adventure that fans have come to expect from the Master of Orion franchise, and we're sure that fans everywhere will find it worth the wait."

Master of Orion III lets players choose to play as one of 16 races vying for control of the galaxy. The game represents the player's control over the political, scientific, espionage, diplomatic, and military policies of a space empire in great detail.
