Microsoft's Halo 5: Guardians may already be out the door and selling well, but the company is not putting an end to its promotional efforts for the sci-fi shooter just yet. The latest example is a funny new advertisement that brings Halo 5 into the world of Robot Chicken-style stop-motion animation. Check it out.

In the video, Blue Team and Fireteam Osiris square off in a "Grunt Off," which is basically a competition to kill as many grunts as possible. The narrator says things like "Atilla the Grunt," "Grunt for Red October," and "Hashtag Grunt the Truth" as the poor, poor grunts come under heavy fire.

There's even a funny part at the end when Spartan Locke challenges Master Chief to take off his helmet. He obliges, but...well, watch the video and find out for yourself.

This isn't the first comical Halo 5 commercial. Microsoft previously enlisted New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski to dress up as Master Chief and give out free copies of the game on Halloween.

Halo 5 launched on October 27 for Xbox One and generated a franchise-record $400 million in revenue from game and hardware sales. However, GameStop this week said the game underperformed.

GameSpot may get a commission from retail offers.
