After a COVID-related delay, Amazon Prime Day 2020 is here at last. While Amazon itself is offering tons of deals on games and more, there are also other retailers hosting sales of their own during the 48-hour event. One of those is PC-focused online retailer Newegg; through its "FantasTech" and "Gametober" sales, you'll be able to get discounts on parts for your gaming PC, pre-built gaming rigs, gaming laptops, external hard drives for PS4 and Xbox One, and more.

Quite a few next-gen games are coming to PC as well as PS5 and/or Xbox Series X/S, including Godfall and the highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077. If you were unable to score a next-gen console preorder or prefer playing games on PC, now's a great time to upgrade your hardware so you're ready to run fall's biggest games. Be sure to read our guide to building a gaming PC before you shop so you get the right components, too. You can get plenty of storage space, either external or internal, to store all the latest games. That includes fancy new NVMe SSD cards.

Below, we've rounded up the best deals at Newegg during Prime Day. You can also see our roundup of the best Prime Day PC gaming deals on Amazon for more PC deals, plus all the best deals on Razer headsets, keyboards, and mice you can get right now as well as the best hard drive deals for PS5 and Xbox Series X.

BUYER BEWARE ON ~WD portable hard drives.

-i bought the 5 TB and transferred 3/7 TB worth of music to it

and everything was great. And it transferred 5X's faster then my previous HardDrive.

BUT it started making a clicking noise.

aka- The Click of Death... Yup tha's a thing.

So not only was i out the $100 bucks but i lost all my songs..

yeah i can download em again but im not gonna remember every album i had..

*Until i buy a expensive one, a tank/beast.

I will use these 356gb Flash drive sticks sinceive yet to ever break one.

Just wish those would come in larger sizes..

****BTW****

USB 3.0 on the newer flash drives uploaded music/files super fat. i couldn't believe it..

It was like back n the day on Lime Wire going from Dial Up to DSL/Cable...

**PS:of course i "could" get refunde don the WD but im just not wanting to deal with atm as it aggros me.

@sippio: **PS:of course i "could" get refunde don the WD but im just not wanting to deal with atm as it aggros me. -that means you are part of the problem then.

It is so easy to get a refund anymore from almost anywhere you buy something. It also sounds like you just got a bad drive, which happens. I mean, in my 25yrs of building PCs I assume that a bad drive is inevitable. And I plan accordingly, as a drive failure is the most common failure there is. But Western Digital has some of the most lenient and easy going return policies along with super long warranties, like 2yrs on blue and longer on black? or red. Just contact them, email them your receipt or CC payment if bought in a store. And they will replace no problem. You do not have to keep the boxes that computer stuff comes in, but do at least rip the upc code, serial numbers, and receipts. Also move email receipts into a separate folder.

Backup, Backup, oh yeah we are not 5yrs old anymore so back up your data. A flash drive is great, but data loss is much higher if you use it a lot. Meaning a lot of read, writes, re-writes, increase fail rate. So as a long term storage .. that you throw in a drawer or safe deposit box, not that bad, but as freq used storage,.. flash drives, they are not for that. For the usage that you describe above, I would buy a WD red or Seagate archival version or even tape, or blu ray. I would not buy a car to haul timber, nor buy a bulldozer to drop kids off at school. Archival of long term or large storage is expensive, but it is expensive for a reason because anyone over middle school would not fill up a HDD or any drive with irreplaceable data without setting it into a raid or at least having redundancies. Oh GOD im so triggered.

Also when you get a brand new drive, HDD or any kind. I would not fill it completely as soon as you get it. For instance a lot of people buy a new drive to copy another, then they just Crtl A, then Ctrl C -which is not a good practice. Go slow, make sure your power supply is rated correctly, kills off most processes, and ease into the water. These are basics of storage you can look up anywhere. Think about a mini server if your really into throwing terabytes of storage back an forth. Also Google gives around 15 gb of free storage across drive, gmail, music, photos, etc. Dropbox gives away a lot. Students can find a ton of free storage here and there. I am talking about dozens of free TB if your willing to find it.

But first, get off your lazy, first world problem ass, and replace your bad purchase like a real woman. You lost man privileges after posting that whiny post above.
