Mass Effect: Andromeda Might Add A New Weapon That Only Shows Up In Cutscenes

"Several folks seem interested in it."

BioWare has received a lot of feedback about Mass Effect: Andromeda--some good and some bad. One thing that players like a lot, it seems, is the X5 Ghost weapon. The only problem is this gun only appears in cutscenes and cannot actually be used. That could change, BioWare has revealed.

"It was an early idea that become a prop, but doesn't exist as a functional gun in the game," lead designer Ian Frazier said on Twitter in response to the tweet below. "That said, several folks seem interested in it, so we're investigating the possibility of turning the prop into a usable gun for a future patch."

Players have also called for the AAX5 weapon to be added to Andromeda, though it remains to be seen if this will indeed happen.

Last week, BioWare released a statement regarding the feedback to Andromeda, acknowledging the mixed reaction. The studio added that its developers are"working around the clock to gather information and plan out solutions to improve and build on Mass Effect: Andromeda."

BioWare says it will talk about its "immediate plans" for Andromeda on Tuesday, April 4.

Andromeda launched in March for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. GameSpot's Andromeda review scored it a 6/10, while you can see a roundup of scores from other outlets here.

"In many ways, Andromeda feels like a vision half-fulfilled. It contains a dizzying amount of content, but the quality fluctuates wildly," reviewer Scott Butterworth said in his critique.
