The first teaser for the upcoming Marvel Netflix show The Punisher was released last week, and now we have a photo of star Jon Bernthal in costume. Although the vigilante anti-hero appeared in Season 2 of Daredevil, he didn't get a chance to wear the distinctive armor from Marvel's comic books--until now. Check it out over at CBR.

Bernthal is the fourth actor to play Frank Castle, following Dolph Lundgren, Thomas Jane, and Ray Stevenson, in the three previous movie versions. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Bernthal revealed that the approach to his character would be different to that of Daredevil.

Now Playing: The Punisher - Official International Teaser Trailer

"With Frank and with the world that he's very much involved in, he's a soldier," he said. "I think there will be very much a military component of the show. It will be somewhat centered on that. I think that [the] Frank Castle that was in Daredevil is not in Punisher."

Bernthal will be joined in The Punisher by Deborah Ann Woll, who plays Karen Page and appeared alongside him in Daredevil. In the EW interview, Bernthal hinted that she will have a major role to play in the new show. "Frank has a soft spot in Karen's heart," he said. "Certainly with the dark history that Karen has, there are very few people she can share her authentic self with. Frank is someone who she could potentially fully open up to."

Although The Punisher doesn't yet have a confirmed release date, it is expected to hit Netflix later in 2017
