Marvel's Spider-Man PS4 Game Has Gone Gold

I hope this is the Spiderman simulator and they don't even need to think about a sequel. Have the perfect NY backdrop, the perfect Spiderman manoeuverability, a good solid basic plot, and then just keep bringing in more comicbook-like stories and events as DLC.

Just like I think Arkham Knight could have been a perfect game if Rocksteady/WB kept adding more Seasons of Infamy. Just like in comics or tv series - a supervillain appears, is imprisoned, escapes, is imprisoned again. Sometimes the villains join forces, sometimes they have feuds, and sometimes someone totally new appears.

If TV series can last 5-10 years like that, these games could too. I really hope in coming months and years we see Mysterio, Carnage, Chameleon and even buddies like Speed Demon, Swarm, Spot and Big Wheel. Plus J. Jonah and other aspects of the double life could bring in lots of non-combat content. All the wit and inner commentary could really shine when you see Electro appearing for the 5th time with some sort of master plan and Peter ends up exchanging verbal blows with him about how he always fails and Electro convinces this is the time everything works out.

I hope the game engine of this game is scaled to suit at least something like that. I think I'll buy PS4 just for this and it would be outstanding to every month see an update "new comic story available" even if every one cost $10. Spiderman simulator instead of a glorified interactive Spiderman movie.

when i hear "gone gold" i always think "damn 500k preorders already?!". it's a weird term for "product is finished". "gone green" sounds more like the correct term for that.

Don't games usually go gold only days before release, if at all? I know it's too much for a bump up in release, but it's a nice thought. I want this game

I like the original red and blue more. Gold makes me think of Iron Spider.

Is this really an exclusive exclusive or is it like time limited or something? I mean it doesn't matter to me either way as I have a PS4 Xbox One X and a Switch I just want to know because if I could I'd rather get this on the Switch or the One X. The Switch mostly for the portability and if not the Switch the One X for the 4K and possible 60FPS gameplay. I also got a gaming Laptop but I'm not sure it'd be able to handle this.

I better not see more than 100mb day 1 patch.
