Marvel's Midnight Suns Switch Version Canceled, Launches For Xbox One And PS4 On May 11
Marvel's Midnight Suns is finally launching on Xbox One and PS4, but Firaxis also shared the news that the Switch version is no longer coming.
Marvel's Midnight Suns, the tactical role-playing game from 2022, is finally releasing on Xbox One and PS4 on May 11, but developer Firaxis also shared the bad news that the Nintendo Switch version of the game will no longer be releasing.
In a blog post sharing the release date for both the final DLC pack, Blood Storm--which features Storm of the X-Men--and the Xbox One and PS4 versions, Firaxis briefly mentioned that the Nintendo Switch version of Marvel's Midnight Suns is "no longer planned." Not much had been revealed about the potential Switch release, which was supposed to come out sometime after the Xbox One and PS4 versions.
As for the Xbox One and PS4 versions of Midnight Suns, the three previous DLC packs featuring Deadpool, Venom, and Morbius, along with the new Storm DLC, will be available for purchase at launch via either the Legendary Edition of the game or the Midnight Suns season pass, letting players use the DLC characters in their first playthrough. Finishing the story missions for all four DLC characters unlocks a final boss fight against a mythical monster.
In GameSpot's Marvel's Midnight Suns review, critic Jordan Ramée gave it an 8/10, writing, "The combat offers a rewardingly tactical experience, with a deckbuilding card system ensuring that randomness challenges the player, not frustrates them. Plus, the mission variety and cast of diverse playable characters keep combat fresh across dozens of hours. But I most enjoyed the role-playing elements and giving The Hunter a chance to connect with the members of the Midnight Suns and Avengers, forging friendships that resulted in powerful abilities I could take back to the combat side of the game."
