Marvel Fans Can't Watch Falcon And The Winter Soldier This Year

The upcoming Disney+ show The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is one of several new live-action Marvel series, and it was originally set to arrive on the service in August. But like many series, the COVID-19 pandemic led to production being halted back in March, and it has now been confirmed that it won't be released until 2021.

Although it was previously reported that Falcon and the Winter Soldier wouldn't make its August release slot, this is the first confirmation that we won't see it this year at all. The show has a page on Disney+, and "coming 2021" has now been added to the listing.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was filming in Prague when production was suspended in March. In July, it was reported that Disney had been given permission to resume work by Czech authorities, but with the series months behind schedule, it's hardly surprising that it will now arrive next year.

The series will see Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan resume their MCU roles, and the cast also includes Daniel Brühl as Baron Zemo, a character he played in 2015's Captain America: Civil War. Despite the disappointing delay to The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, there is one MCU series that fans can still look forward to in 2020. WandaVision, which stars Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olson as Vision and the Scarlet Witch, will hit Disney+ later this year, and the very strange trailer was recently released.

In related news, it was reported last week that another upcoming Disney+ MCU show, She-Hulk, has found its star. Orphan Black star Tatiana Maslany will play Jennifer Walters, an attorney and the cousin of Bruce Banner, who becomes She-Hulk after a transfusion gives her some of Bruce's blood.
