Marvel's Demonic Series Helstrom Main Cast Revealed

The adventures of the Son and Daughter of Satan.

The upcoming Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has plenty of movies and TV shows to get excited about. But that's not all that Marvel has in the works. Hulu is producing multiple shows based on Marvel properties, including the series Helstrom. The series main cast and plot was just revealed, and it looks like a hellish good time.

While there's no release date set yet, the main cast for the upcoming program has been revealed in a press release. Homeland's Elizabeth Marvel will play Victoria Helstrom, a woman who has spent 20 years in an institution, plagued by both real and imagined demons. She'll join Tom Austen (The Royals) and Sydney Lemmon (Fear of the Walking Dead) who will be playing Daimon and Ana Helstrom, respectively. The two are the alleged children of a serial killer, and they spend their days going after some of the worst villains the show will have to offer.

By day, Daimon is a professor of ethics, but at night, he's an exorcist fighting a dark and hidden world, trying to get rid of demons. Ana joins him in his quest, running an auction house. The trio is joined by Robert Wisdom (Ballers) as Caretaker, June Carryl (Mindhunter) as Dr. Louise Hastings, Ariana Guerra (Five Feet Apart) as Gabriella Rosetti, and Alain Uy (The Passage) as Chris Yen. All of these characters have dealings within the occult, one way or another.

The first season of Helstrom will be 10 episodes, and Paul Zbyszewski (Agents of SHIELD) will serve as showrunner with Marvel TV's head Jeph Loeb serving as executive producer.

"Marvel Television is thrilled to have such an amazing cast that enriches Paul's fantastic writing," said Loeb. "The ensemble is the perfect way to bring our audience into our Adventure into Fear franchise causing delicious nightmares of what's to come!"

Helstrom has strong ties to Ghost Rider--a series recently axed by Hulu due to a "creative impasse." The character Daimon Hellstrom, also known as Son of Satan, first made his appearance in 1973's Ghost Rider #1. He and his sister Satana are the children of Satan and were both trained in magic. Daimon leaned towards the human side of his heritage, becoming a professor and investigating the occult, while his sister embraced her dark side. The character has evolved over the years, but he very much has remained a part of the mystic side of the Marvel comic book universe.

Helstrom joins a slate of other Hulu Marvel TV series, including the M.O.D.O.K. animated series, a Howard the Duck show written by Clerks' Kevin Smith, a bizarre animated assassin show called Hit Monkey, and more.
