Having just reached 1 million user-created levels--including the complicated calculator level (see below)--Little Big Planet shows no signs of slowing down. Yesterday at Comic-Con 2009 in San Diego, Sony revealed a major new media partner would be providing original content for the PlayStation 3 exclusive.

Apropos to the venue, the partner was Marvel Entertainment, the company behind such iconic comic-book franchises as Spider-Man and The Uncanny X-Men. Though specific downloadable content plans have yet to be finalized, Marvel did tout some proposed licensed outfits for the game's simulated stocking characters, affectionately known as Sackboys and Sackgirls. Re-creations of Captain America, Iron Man, and Wolverine from the X-Men comics were all shown, but Sony emphasized that they were merely "concept art of possible costumes."

When the Marvel outfits arrive, they will be the latest characters imported into Little Big Planet from other properties. Previous notable Sackboy outfits include Solid Snake from Konami's Metal Gear Solid series and Sephiroth from Square Enix's Final Fantasy VII.
