The Nintendo Switch is getting another Mario sports game. Mario Strikers: Battle League, the first Mario soccer game since 2007, releases on Switch on June 10. Preorders for Mario Strikers: Battle League are starting to pop up, and we've got all of the details you need to know.

Mario Strikers: Battle League preorder bonus

It's rare for Nintendo to offer an official preorder bonus with its games, and Mario Strikers: Battle League will likely be no different in that regard. However, Mario games often get retailer-specific bonuses, including the last year's Mario Golf: Super Rush. While no retailers have announced any bonuses so far, it wouldn't be surprising to see bonus goodies included with orders from Walmart, GameStop, Best Buy, or Target.

Mario Strikers: Battle League is a 5v5 soccer game that, unsurprisingly, twists the rules of the game to make it more action-packed and chaotic. The field has an electrified perimeter, and you can tackle opponents into it to shock and stun them. Familiar Mario items like green shells can be used to attack opponents, and a special shot dubbed Hyper Strike count for two goals if you score. A lot of the gear is designed to make it look like the characters are going into a fierce battle, but it's more than just for show. Player stats change when you switch outfits and accessories.

Battle League will feature local co-op for up to eight players (four on each team). The game will also have an online mode, and it sounds like it has more features than the other Mario sports games on Switch. In addition to regular matchmaking, you can create and join online clubs for up to 20 players.
