Comments

Nintendo has today announced the North American release of Mario Kart: Double Dash!! for the GameCube. The kart racing game, which was released in Japan on November 7 and in Europe on November 14, is the latest in a series that has sold more than 23 million units worldwide since the first Mario Kart title was released for the SNES some 11 years ago.

"Mario Kart: Double Dash!! will be the hottest game of this holiday season," said George Harrison, Nintendo of America's senior vice president of marketing and corporate communications. "Whether players battle one-on-one or race against a group of friends, the game sparks friendly rivalries that keep them coming back to this number one franchise."

Mario Kart: Double Dash!! allows players to race as any of 16 different Nintendo characters and features 16 circuits as well as a number of specially designed levels for gameplay modes such as balloon battle, bob-omb blast, and shine thief.
