Mario Kart 8 Mercedes-Benz DLC Coming to North America, Europe

Last month, Nintendo and Mercedes-Benz announced Japanese owners of Mario Kart 8 will be able to download free DLC that adds the new Mercedes-Benz GLA to the game. Now, Nintendo confirmed via Twitter that the DLC will be made available in North America and Europe as well.

As you can see in the image above, the spacious, four-door GLA has been modified to accommodate Mario and other kart racing enthusiasts in the Mushroom Kingdom by making it into a convertible that can comfortably seat one.

The DLC was initially timed to coincide with a new promotional campaign in Japan for the car, with the 30-second ad showing the GLA racing around the original Super Mario Bros. before rolling into a scene where a real-life and weirdly muscular version of Mario exits the vehicle.
