Nintendo has announced Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's next wave of Booster Course Pass courses. In this fourth wave, the Nintendo Switch game will get another eight courses covering a wide selection from the series' history. The DLC teaser shown during the Nintendo Direct livestream included Yoshi's Island--a brand new course--and Birdo, a new character originally from Mario Kart: Double Dash!!

There's no exact release date for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's Wave 4, but it will arrive some time Spring 2023.

Now Playing: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass, Wave 4 hits Nintendo Switch this spring!

The Mario Kart 8 Booster Course Pass adds 48 tracks in total to Mario Kart 8, split into six waves of eight tracks each. Many of the tracks being added are revivals of past tracks, including several relatively recent ones from the mobile-only game Mario Kart Tour. The full set will be complete by the end of 2023.

The Booster Pass is available as a standalone purchase for $25 on the Nintendo eShop, or as part of the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pass subscription for $50 per year. That subscription also includes the full array of Switch Online bonuses including the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Happy Home Paradise expansion, and emulated NES, SNES, Genesis, and N64 games.

It was also revealed during the Nintendo Direct that Game Boy and Game Boy Advance games will join the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pass subscription--starting with games like Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX and Super Mario Land 2.
