March's Four Xbox One Games With Gold Titles Revealed

Pretty good month for Games with Gold.

The titles offered through Xbox Live's Games with Gold program for March have been announced. As usual, two Xbox One games are being offered--one at the start of the month and one halfway through--and two older titles from previous console generations will be free with a Gold subscription as well.

In terms of Xbox One titles, from March 1-31, you'll be able to download Adventure Time: Pirates of the Enchiridion, an open-world adventure game based on the popular animated series Adventure Time. From March 16-April 15, a Games with Gold subscription will allow you to download Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 for free. If you haven't played Garden Warfare 2 before, you should as this wacky shooter is an absolute blast, and doing so will possibly prepare you for the next Plants vs. Zombies game as it's rumored to be Garden Warfare 3.

Despite the notable Xbox One offerings this month, the two older titles are the highlight of March's Games with Gold. From March 1-15, you can download Star Wars: Republic Commando, a squad-focused first-person shooter that came out for the original Xbox. In our Star Wars: Republic Commando review, we wrote, "If you're a fan of Star Wars or action games, Republic Commando is easy to recommend." With Games with Gold, you can nab Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, an atypical addition to the Metal Gear franchise that abandons stealth for head-on sword-focused combat, from March 16-31. In our Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance review, we wrote, "If you're even vaguely interested in the Metal Gear series or intelligent hack-and-slash games, do not pass up a chance to play this exciting and addictive hybrid." Both Republic Commando and Revengeance are Xbox One backwards compatible, and X-enhanced for One X.

As with all Games with Gold titles, you must have an Xbox Live Gold online subscription in order to download these games during the dates they're available. Several of February's Games with Gold offerings are still live, but you're running out of time on them.
