Vivendi Universal has officially confirmed its agreement with European developer Argonaut Games to publish Malice for multiple console platforms. According to Vivendi Universal, the game, which is now officially titled Malice: Kat's Tale, will be released for the Microsoft Xbox and an unannounced console. It is highly likely that the unnamed console is the PlayStation 2, as Argonaut, in a financial statement released in August, listed Sony's console as a potential home for the game.

"This is a title we've had our eye on and have been excited about for a long time," said J Allard, general manager of Microsoft's Xbox games division. "We are happy to be working with such experienced talent from Argonaut and Sierra and are looking forward to seeing this remarkable game come to life on the Xbox."

"Vivendi Universal Publishing's marketing and distribution capabilities will allow us to substantially grow the Malice franchise," said Joss Ellis, COO of Argonaut Software. "This agreement marks the start of a new and promising relationship with one of the key global players in the games marketplace."

Sierra, the Vivendi Universal label responsible for the game's publishing duties, plans to release both console versions of Malice: Kat's Tale next fall.
