Majesco announced today that it is currently developing a cel-shaded boxing game for the PlayStation 2 and GameCube called Black & Bruised. Black & Bruised will feature 18 different boxers and 18 unique arenas, each with its own theme. There will be five gameplay modes included in the final version of the game including training, single fight, championship, survival, and head-to-head for two players.

Black & Bruised will include more than 30 different facial animations, pressure-sensitive controls that are easy to learn but also feature more depth for the advanced player, skeletal motion and skin morphing, FMV clips between fights to push each boxer's story forward, a variety of special effects, and over-the-top super punches for each boxer. Players will also be able to play the game from a variety of camera angles including a first-person view that makes the game look similar to Nintendo's Punch-Out!! franchise.

Black & Bruised is currently scheduled for release on both the GameCube and PlayStation 2 in the fall. The screenshots are from the GameCube version of the game. We'll have more information when it becomes available.
