Magforce Racing - First Impression

Think of Magforce as an F-Zero X with weapons and you've got the basic concept

Think of Magforce as an F-Zero X with weapons and you've got the basic concept. In the future, a shortage of gasoline has forced humankind to find an alternative method of transportation. That method is magneto-kinetic driving technology - a metallic plate that uses superconductors and magnets to propel vehicles along it. Thus, road racing has evolved into MK league racing, a no-holds-barred, gravity-defying, insanely fast racing event where winners win big and losers die.

You'll be able to race through Magforce's nine different futuristic environments, from Moscow to Mars. As in other no-gravity futuristic racers, Magforce's tracks will feature high vertical tunnels, underwater tubes, corkscrews, loops, and other twists that take advantage of the lack of gravity. Not only will you be able to dish out the pain with your craft's default weapons, but you'll also be able to pick up any of thirteen different power-ups for speed boosts, more powerful weapons, shields, and more. As you advance through the game, you'll move up through the four skill classes, which will let you find and unlock all the courses and vehicles.

Multiplayer mode supports up to four players and features a standard race as well as a "scramble" mode that allots, upgrades, and modifies power-ups for every player.

Magforce should be shown at E3, so we should have more info on it then. In the meantime, check out our screenshots of the game in action.
