The Madden 20 ratings are decided by EA's Andre Weingarten and Dustin Smith. You can learn a lot more about the process of how they come up with player ratings in this fascinating ESPN feature.

The Madden NFL ratings were for a long time formulated by ratings czar Donny Moore until he retired in 2015. Madden NFL 20's player ratings will change as the season progresses based on how players perform on the field.

Something new for Madden 20 are the new X-Factor abilities that give the highest-rated players unique special skills that can be used in certain circumstances. This will theoretically boost a player's OVR even further, though it remains to be seen how it will all shake out.

Madden 20 launches on August 2 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. EA Access members will get a limited amount of time to play the game early, as usual.
