Lucasfilm confirms all future Star Wars content to be canon, including the games

Hopefully the Darth Bane Trilogy and Thrawn Trilogy become considered canon.

I like this approach, and I am glad they are disregarding the books when it comes to the story for the sequel trilogy. The EU always felt very "fan fic" to me (which is a bad thing)

What about the KoTOR series? The Jedi Knight series(Outcast/Academy) as well? :(

This could be problematic. Aside from the films releasing more frequently, now we've got to worry about potentially muddied history/events/timelines due to everything being canon now.

The Old Republic stuff was really what kept me interested in Star Wars. Revan turning to the Darkside to be able to face the "true" Sith, Darht Bane and the Rule of Two...the lore just seemed so much more interesting than the events featured in the films.

They better be good then. To me, only public reception turns things into canon.

Meaningless, Jar Jar is Canon so it's already meaningless.

Star Wars is all over with place with the lore and movies fairly broken.

Apart from KOTOR and Force Unleashed (and MAYBE Dark Forces II) I never really thought too much of the storylines in SW games.

The Old Republic universe is pretty much the only reason why I am interested in Star Wars, if that's not a canon, then star wars is a dog poo, especially after they made the cartoon, and LOL Unleashed.

Really thought that the light side endings to KOTOR and the first TFU were canon. Could've sworn GL said that... but oh well.

I would elcome the change. Most SW games this gen were average at best.

Canon? Short for "can(n)on fodder"?

I feel it would be wise to allow any game under the EA flag to be part of canon soley because EA has full licensing rights to sw games now. That would allow both KOTORs and the current TOR to be considered canon, and not interfere with future movies. Also I'd be cool with the concept of TFu to be canon and TFu2 to be stricken from record

This is disappointing...

It's a strange one, I've read pretty much all of the EU post ROTJ and only a little of the pre episode 1 eu. Some of it has been brilliant Timothy zhan, Michael stackpole with the some it pure filth Kathy tyres amongst others.

I've invested a lot of time in these books and as a fan of the original films I've accepted it as a continuation of the original trilogy. I think I'll still view it that way, regardless of what happens with the next 3 movies. I just hope they turn out half decent.

I guess if they are trash I can always fall back on the eu.

Oddly enough, SWKOTOR is still the best Star Wars game to date. Great story and characters.

I think they are making a mistake. Many parts of the EU would be great for games and movies, especially the New Jedi Order and Legacy of the Force series.
