In preparation for Star Wars's annual day-based-entirely-on-a-bad-joke May 4 celebration, PC retailer GOG is running a sale based around the legendary sci-fi property. Nearly 20 games are included in the promotion, which is currently offering up to 77% off. (The original Star Wars was, of course, released in 1977.)

That means Star Wars: Battlefront II (2005), Knights of the Old Republic, and Knights of the Old Republic II are each on offer for $2.29 (£1.89). Other classics are also discounted, including Dark Forces ($1.37 / £1.19), Republic Commando ($2.29 / £1.89), and Empire at War ($4.59 / £3.69). GOG also stated that on Star Wars day itself, May 4, every game will be 75% off. Check out the full list of games on offer here.

Steam also has its own Star Wars Day sale going on, as do the Xbox Store and PlayStation Store.

The popular Battlefront series got rebooted in 2015 with EA's Star Wars Battlefront. Its sequel was recently revealed with a new trailer, while the full game is scheduled to arrive on November 17 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The FPS features a campaign set up in a new novel and an offline co-op mode that's not available on PC, as well as multiplayer modes introduced in the 2015 reboot.

Update: GOG.com originally told us that every game in the sale was 77% off. The retailer has now informed us that the games are up to 77% off, except on May 4 itself, when every game will be 75% off. The games listed in the story all happen to still be 77% off, however, so they remain at their prices stated here.
