"Island 902" is one of six new maps Capcom is making for Lost Planet.

Capcom has already confirmed postlaunch support for its Xbox 360 action game Lost Planet: Extreme Condition, but today the publisher announced that it is going to be offering more than a few bug fixes and presentation tweaks. Over the next few months, Capcom will release seven new multiplayer maps for Lost Planet, one of them free and the rest divided into three map packs for sale on the Xbox Live Marketplace.

The first pack of two maps is expected to go up on the Marketplace alongside the announced update for the game, on or around March 9. It includes a close-quarters map called "Radar Field" and a more open offering, "Island 902," which mixes islands with underwater areas. The pack will cost 400 Microsoft Points ($5).

On top of that, Capcom is going to make the Lost Planet Collector's Edition "Battleground" map downloadable for free to all players of the game. The remaining map packs and "Battleground" will be released "in the coming months."
