Electronic Arts today announced the latest title based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s epic trilogy has shipped for all current-generation consoles and the Game Boy Advance. Lord of the Rings, The Third Age showcases new playable characters in a role-playing game that takes place throughout familiar locations--such as the Mines of Moria, the fallen city of Osgiliath, and Helm’s Deep--that have never before been playable in a Lord of the Rings game.

Characters’ attributes, weapons, and fighting styles are all fully upgradable through experience gained by completing main story quests and side quests. The choice to fight for good or evil will be in the player’s hands.

Lord of the Rings, The Third Age is rated “T” for Teen and carries an MSRP of $49.95 for the PS2, Xbox, and GameCube versions and an MSRP of $29.95 for the Game Boy Advance version.
