Lord British returns to games

NCsoft Corporation has announced that its popular online role-playing game, Lineage: The Blood Pledge, now features Lord British, Richard Garriott's famous game character. Garriott is best known for creating the Ultima role-playing game series, including the massively multiplayer Ultima Online. Lord British is a central part of the plot in the Ultima games.

For the next four weeks, Lord British will appear in Lineage, interact with players, and help advance the game's storyline. Players will be encouraged to create, equip, and train their Lineage characters to participate in a weekly castle siege led by Lord British. At the end of the four-week event, the most skilled and talented character will win control of the newest castle in the online gameworld.

Lineage currently has more than 3 million subscribers and 250,000 concurrent users, making it the most popular online role-playing game.
