Fans of the Looney Tunes are in for a treat with the upcoming racing game for the Dreamcast. Visually immersive, and amusing to play, Looney Tunes Space Race looks like a fun, competent kart-racing game.

From a gameplay standpoint, Space Race is your standard go-kart style racing game complete with four-player split screen action and plenty of obstacles and power-ups. Looney Tunes: Space Race is also ripe with wacky weapons to help your racer - from elephants and anvils that fall on other racers to black holes you can lay on the track. You'll have the option to choose from eight of your all-time favorite characters, including Bugs Bunny, Sylvester, Wile E. Coyote, Elmer Fudd, Daffy Duck, and Yosemite Sam.

Space Race offers more than enough challenges to keep the lone gamer happy with more than tracks and challenges. After each winning race, players win A tokens, which they can spend on special challenge races. After a win in the challenge mode, additional features of the game are unlocked.

Visually, Space Race immerses the player in a 3D environment right out of a Looney Tunes cartoon. In the version we played, framerate took a hit when there was an abundance of action, but it should be fixed by the time the game hits shelves.

This Infogrames published game is expected to ship sometime in the fourth quarter of 2000.
