Looks Like The Xbox One Ultimate Game Sale Is Beginning Early
The Xbox deals are starting to roll out.
Microsoft's Ultimate Game Sale isn't scheduled to begin until tomorrow, but it appears that the deals are already starting to go live on the Microsoft Store. According to a tweet from Xbox's Major Nelson, the full sale is set to run July 19-30, offering discounts of up to 65% on over 700 games. As an added bonus, Xbox Live Gold subscribers get an extra 10% off the deals. [Update: The sale is officially live now, with all 700+ games on sale. You can find highlights here.]
The sale officially begins July 19 at 12:01 AM PT / 3:01 AM ET / 7:01 AM GMT. But we're already seeing some incredible deals, including a one-year Xbox Live Gold subscription for $40 instead of the usual $60.
In terms of games, you can snag PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds for $22.49, saving a few bucks off its normal $30 price tag. The zombie survival game State of Decay 2 is down to $24. The acclaimed psychological action game Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice is also on sale for $20.
It's not just games that are available now that are on sale. You can save money on pre-orders for games like Shenmue 1 & 2 ($27), Dead Cells ($20), and Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 + 2 ($36). All of those games will be out later this year. All told 280 items are on sale right now; you can view the full list here. Expect hundreds of other games to join them once the Ultimate Game Sale officially kicks off.
While you wait for the Ultimate Game Sale to go live, you can check out this week's Games With Gold and Spotlight Sales. Among the deals in those sales this week are discounts on Fortnite Founder's Packs, Mirror's Edge Catalyst, Okami HD, and Dragon Ball Xenoverse.
Running alongside the sale is a sweepstakes event called the "Ultimate Dopplegamer Sweepstakes." To participate in this event, you can dress up like an Xbox character for a chance to win a trip to PAX West in Seattle.
