Kemco will be showing its upcoming PlayStation 2 and Xbox action game Lobo at this year's E3. The rise in popularity of comic book properties in the film industry has been mirrored to a large degree in the video game industry. Kemco has joined the bandwagon by acquiring the video game rights to DC Comics' Lobo, an intergalactic bounty hunter with a bad attitude and a brutally thorough work ethic. His over-the-top style and darkly sinister nature make him an ideal candidate for a video game, and Kemco is set to deliver with a third-person shooter that focuses on him.

The game's plot begins with Lobo being bored, broke, and angry. In an effort to earn money, he decides to take down the universe's 10 most-wanted criminals, working his way from the bottom to the top. Along the way, Lobo will explore 10 different areas, trade for better weapons, track the criminals, and fight hordes of evil henchmen. You'll also be able to find and earn hidden bounties while traveling from place to place on Lobo's space hog motorcycle or alongside space dolphins.

The game's combat promises to be a visceral experience, with a variety of weapons at Lobo's disposal. These include knives, chains, guns, rocket launchers, grenades, and Lobo's signature weapon, a hook and chain. Lobo is chameleonlike, with the ability to morph into a number of different creatures, such as a ghost, a skeleton, and a variety of mutant animals. The morphing ability allows him to hide from enemies on those occasions when discretion is the better part of valor.

Lobo is scheduled for release in 2004 on the PlayStation 2 and Xbox. We'll have more information on Lobo as it becomes available.
