Little Big Planet 2 may have been delayed until the new year, but impatient gamers can get a second helping of Sackboy today regardless. The diminutive star of the series is headlining the PlayStation Network's new releases this week with his own stand-alone spin-off, Little Big Planet - Sackboy's Prehistoric Moves.

As the name implies, Sackboy's Prehistoric Moves requires the motion-sensing Move controller. The multiplayer-only game challenges up to four gamers to hop their way through 10 dinosaur-themed Little Big Planet levels with the assistance of a Move-equipped friend. Using the Move, that player will flip switches and manipulate platforms to clear the way for the group. Sackboy's Prehistoric Moves sells for $6.

For more multiplayer fun, gamers can check out Konami's new port of the 1992 arcade game X-Men for $10. Never before ported to a home system, the old-school beat-'em-up features six-player cooperative action, with gamers stepping into the spandex of some of Marvel's mightiest mutants, including Cyclops, Colossus, Storm, Wolverine, and Nightcrawler. Dazzler is also a playable character. The comic giant has another title landing on the PlayStation Network today, as Zen Studios' stand-alone Marvel Pinball arrives with a $10 price tag of its own.

The PSN update also features new PlayStation 3 releases for a pair of older games. Activision is looking to capitalize on interest in the recently announced Prototype 2 by adding the 2009 original Prototype to the console's downloadable storefront with a $30 price point. Meanwhile, Ubisoft continues its high-definition PS3 rerelease of the Sands of Time trilogy. Today sees the middle chapter, 2004's Prince of Persia: The Warrior Within, arrive in HD form for $15.

Elsewhere on the store, gamers can check out the PSone import Galaxy Fight for $6 or pick up new downloadable content for Fist of the North Star (two packs for $7 each), Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood (a free update with a new multiplayer mode and map), and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II (a bonus mission and costume pack, each for $1).
