Listen To Billie Eilish's Excellent No Time To Die Song And Try To Decipher The Lyrics

The lyrics seem to shine a light on what to expect from the story.

Following a brief teaser, Billie Eilish has released her full No Time To Die song, and it's great. Like the movie, the song is called "No Time To Die" and it's a moody, atmospheric track that sees the singer exploring her range. Have a listen in the Spotify embed below.

The lyrics are striking as well, and fans may wonder if they contain clues about the story in No Time To Die. In the first verse, Eilish sings, "I should have known / I'd leave alone / Just goes to show / That the blood you bleed / Is just the blood you owe."

The lyrics may also reference 007's relationship with the character Madeleine Swann (Lea Seydoux). The first verse goes on, "We were a pair / But I saw you there / Too much to bear / You were my life, but life is far away from fair / Was I stupid to love you? / Was I reckless to help?/ Was it obvious to everybody else?"

The chorus is gripping as well, as Eilish sings about falling for a lie and a person who was "never on my side." The chorus goes on, "Fool me once, fool me twice / Are you death or paradise? / Now you'll never see me cry / There's just no time to die."

"No Time To Die" by Billie Eilish

Eilish wrote the song alongside her brother and frequent collaborator, Finneas. This marks a special occasion for the 007 series as Eilish is the youngest artist in history to write and perform the Bond theme song.

Eilish joins a group of iconic performers to write music for the James Bond series, which includes the likes of Chris Cornell, Paul McCartney, Jack White, Alicia Keys, Sam Smith, Madonna, Sheryl Crow, Adele, Duran Duran, and more. The score for the film will be composed by the legendary Hans Zimmer.

No Time To Die is directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga (True Detective). The film stars Daniel Craig as Bond, Ralph Fiennes as M, Ben Whishaw as Q, and Naomie Harris as Miss Moneypenny. Joining them for the first time will be Rami Malek, Billy Magnussen, and Ana de Armas.

No Time to Die arrives in theater in April 8.

I am trying to be kind, Billie does a decent job. I would have never given that song to her for Daniel Craig's last movie as James Bond! They are just riding her notoriety I will bet.

Seems like an underwhelming artist to chose as in she really doesn't have a charm to her voice to sound seductive or mysterious.

I guess after Adele though, most artists are going to sound underwhelming. Now, as I somewhat trash Billie, I would love to have heard Lana Del Rey do a Bond song. I understand that would probably be as equally divisive as Eilish lol.

Is no Skyfall´s Adele.

Its pretty trashy TBH. IF the producers where thinking putting an emo teen because she might sell 007 tickets then they need to be set for a rude awakening.

If you think this is excellent, I could send you some sounds of my flatulence that I think you would really enjoy.

I don't think 'excellent' is quite the right word for this.

Ehh.. production is fine but this just sounds like everything else she has done. if you told me this was for the movie I would've thought it was a lesser poplar song on her latest album.

and to clariy I don't hate her, I think she makes fine catchy pop songs( well at least the 3 songs that the radio continues to blare constantly at my job) but I knew she didnt have the singing chops to pull off a Bong theme song its not her style and this song just proved me write.

I mean if there are any big Billie Eilish fans on here come on be honest, this just sounds like any song she does.

I still think Shirley Bassey- Diamonds are forever is the best. the production, the orchestra, her voice., the lyrics. everything was just cream of the crop , they pulled out all the stops for that one, its been un matched since. Also i like Chris cornells because Casino ROyale is nostalgic since thats the Bond Film i grew up with and its my favroite

@alastor529: Oh, she'd definitely pull off a "Bong theme song." Agreed on Diamonds Are Forever. Iconic. I also quite enjoyed "You Only Live Twice." Some of the modern ones are respectable, but I don't think this quite fits the Bond vibe.

Cornell's was definitely respectable, and it has the bonus of being part of my favorite Bond movie ever, so it's just all-around goodness.

This wasn’t very good. She’s super overproduced. I don’t really understand the appeal of her music.

@justthetip: All music is overproduced, hence why we really dont have music anymore.

@basketballfan: I agree. Even some of my favorite bands have become overproduced garbage.

@basketballfan: try listening to The Glorious Sons. Real music is alive and well, just look for it. They won't be playing on Top 40 either.

@sephiroth1979: "Real music" will always be alive and well. However, with music mill houses and multiple artists having the same writer, it became homogenized, less creative, and resulted in music as a whole not having the cultural impact it did in the early 2000s and prior.

Meh. It’s definitely better than that whiny, painful Sam Smith one for Spectre.

Is it me or does she sound like she's mumbling? Still have to say Chris Cornell's 007 song is the best.

@idakooz: "Goldfinger" - composed by John Barry and performed by Shirley Bassey. Now that's a James Bond opening theme!

@idakooz: Kinda, yeah. I guess that's a style, but it does sound a bit like she's sleepy or drunk.

You Know My Name is a good one, and probably in my top three Bond themes, but I think my favorite has to be Garbage's The World is not Enough.
