Lil Nas X Holding A Roblox Concert To Promote His New Song, Holiday [Update]

The rapper's newest single drops on Friday the 13th.


[Update: The concert was held on November 14 and has since ended. As you can probably imagine, the concert included a performance of "Old Town Road" and "Panini," among other songs. It was a huge success, with Lil Nas X's Roblox performances attracting more than 34 million viewers.]

American musician Lil Nas X, best known for his singles "Old Town Road" and "Panini," will put on a virtual live concert experience in the social game Roblox on November 14. Lil Nas X will perform some of his favorite songs, as well as a new track titled "Holiday."

The concert goes live at 1 PM PT / 4 PM ET on Saturday, November 14, while "Holiday" drops on November 13. Also on Friday is a pre-show Q&A and scavenger hunt at 4 PM PT / 7 PM ET in Roblox. Players who participate can earn limited-edition gear for their in-game avatars.

Lil Nas X teased the concert on Twitter. The rapper also shared a 30-second snippet of his upcoming single, "Holiday," against an electric backdrop. Check out the teaser below.

With live, in-person concerts effectively shut down due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, we've seen multiple instances of musicians performing inside of video games. This year saw plenty of virtual concerts, including the Travis Scott Fortnite Experience that drew in over 27 million players around the world.

In other Roblox news, the game has surpassed $2 billion on mobile devices alone, despite being available on PC and Xbox One as well. Creator Roblox Corporation took the company public last month, meaning shares will be made available to purchase sometime soon.
