Speaking in an interview with French publication Alchimy, as translated by Reddit user Koyl, Dontnod co-founder Alain Damasio confirmed he will be contributing to the script of the follow-up.

"I worked as a script doctor on Life is Strange, developed by the studio Dontnod, and I will participate on Life is Strange 2 later," he said.

Dontnod has indicated a desire to create a second season of Life is Strange in the past. In June 2014, producer Luc Baghadoust told Polygon it would "love to have the opportunity to do another season."

Co-director and art director Michel Koch added that a second season would likely include a new cast of characters, if it is created.

"We can really go with other characters, other locations, but still keep the identity of the game, the themes of the game," he said.

Life is Strange was published by Square Enix and is available for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC. As of yet, Square Enix has not said whether it plans to publish a second season, and Dontnot has not officially announced a follow-up.

In GameSpot's Life is Strange finale review Alexa Ray Corriea said the "series is at its best when it's just letting you explore; in the beginning you're roaming the world around you, picking through pieces of other's lives, and by the end you're treading Max's subconscious."

She continued: "The story of Max and Chloe is a beautiful tale, but it's marred by bizarre logical leaps and leftover plot holes. Aggravating out-of-place fetch quests and stealth sequences crack the somber atmosphere and very hamfistedly remind you that you're playing a game. It's unfortunate, because I do love Life is Strange's story. I just wish the ending wasn't so mismanaged."
