Now Playing: Life is Strange - Episode 1 is Now Free

"We're really glad that Square Enix have decided to give the first episode away for free so more players can begin their journey and see why people have fallen in love with the game for themselves."

Jon Brooke, vice president of European marketing for Square Enix added: "By making the first episode of Life is Strange free, we're really excited to welcome new players to the world of Arcadia Bay and our passionate, vibrant community."

"We're incredibly pleased with the awards that the series has won to date as well as the support that our community have given us throughout the campaign."

A new trailer for the game has also been released. You can watch it above.

GameSpot's Life is Strange Episode 1 review praised its story and setting, which "capture the essence of early adulthood." It also highlighted the social tensions that "make for meaningful choices."

Ironic how I just had to offer a friend a redeemable voucher as a birthday gift, and turns out it becomes free, just not for her platform... (Mac)

Please, where can we know more about that "response" ? I'm tired of these articles with zero references.

Awesome I have been meaning to play this but have been weary of buying it because I expect it will end up on PS+ or XBL GWG.

Life is Strange is without a doubt, one of the best adventure game this generation. Well done Dontnod for this massive accomplishment.

it's a good game but there are so many incomprehensible things in it.

i just can't stop myself from thinking about the indistinct parts of the game.

This game has Donnie Darko written all over it, and that's an awesome thing.

By the way, it's nice to see Dontnod having some well earned success. Remember Me was a phenomenal concept, too bad the PS3 and X360 hardware couldn't allow the game to fully shine.

@StonerDemon:

What do you mean I have Remember Me on PS3 and it didn't have any technical issues it was just boring with a non-sensical plot and lack luster combat.

@Marky360: Hardware limitations made the game feel sterile and linear, with almost no interaction with the environment.

@StonerDemon:

I wouldn't put that on the hardware their were plenty of games in the generation that were much more interactive and open. Hell if Rockstar managed to squeeze all that encompassed GTAV on the 360 and PS3 then I'm sure Dotnod could have done a better job with Remember Me.

@sladakrobot: Many people hated the game because of the almost absent interactivity with the environment, but that's very much a hardware generation issue. The developers did what they could. A sequel on current gen hardware would be awesome, but I doubt Capcom would give a thumbs up for it.

@pongley: @supercakman Sorry bud I wasn't aware this was a joke!! Definitely went way over my head (I've never played LIS to be fair so I wouldn't know of the "hella" overuse)

I apologise for my wise-ass comment lol.
