If you're curious about Life is Strange 2 but have not taken the plunge on it, there's now a way to give the game a play without purchase. Square Enix has announced a demo for the game that will let you play through a portion of the first of five episodes on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

The demo is hidden away in the Episode 1 store page on PlayStation Network, Steam, and Xbox--although for some reason we've had trouble finding it on the Australian Xbox Store. It looks to be more readily available in other territories, however.

A new trailer, below, has been released to commemorate the release of this demo, showing off the full adventure.

A free Life is Strange episode, called The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit, released in-between seasons of the series. It's another great way to check the series out for free, as is the first episode of the original Life is Strange, which is also available at no cost.

In GameSpot's review of the first episode of Life is Strange 2, Jess McDonell praised it as "a triumphant first chapter, featuring a narrative that fearlessly reflects the lives of two Latino brothers living in our politically-charged climate."
