An English-language version of Another Round, which just won Best International Film at the 93rd Academy Awards, is in the works with Leonardo DiCaprio set to potentially star.

According to Deadline, DiCaprio's Appian Way film banner bought the English-language rights with Endeavor Content and Makeready. The report said the English-language rights were in high demand even before the Oscars.

The producers are now looking to hire a writer "quickly," according to the report.

If DiCaprio joins the movie, he would play the part that Mads Mikkelsen played in the Danish movie, which follows a man facing an existential crisis who decides to drink all day as an experiment to improve his happiness.

Thomas Vinterberg directed Another Round, and he was nominated for overall Best Director. Vinterberg gave an emotional speech during his acceptance for Best International Film, dedicating it to his daughter Ida, who was killed in a car crash just days into filming. She was cast to play the daughter of Mikkelsen's character.

"We wanted to make a film that celebrates life. And four days into shooting, the impossible happened. An accident on a highway took my daughter away," he said. "Someone looking into a cell phone. We miss her and I love her. We ended up making this movie for her, as her monument. So Ida, this is a miracle that just happened. And you're a part of this miracle."
