Leon Kennedy Suplexes His Way Into Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 Thanks To Mods

With the Resident Evil 4 remake launching to rave reviews, Leon Kennedy is once again in the spotlight of the gaming world. Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 modder tabs_mvc decided now was the best time to add the RE4 hero to the crossover fighter, and the results are impressive.

The modder posted a minute-long teaser video for Leon on Twitter, which shows him fighting against the likes of RE villain Nemesis, as well as Morrigan from Darkstalkers. His super moves include the use of the famous Resident Evil rocket launcher, as well as a flurry of knife attacks followed by a German suplex worthy of WWE.

Tabs's version of Leon appears to borrow much of his moveset from fellow Resident Evil protagonist Chris Redfield, but there are many crucial differences that set Leon apart into his own character. The long-range rifle attack allows Leon to juggle an opponent with multiple shots, while the knife attack can reflect projectiles with the right timing--something Chris was never able to do.

Leon is the latest in a string of impressive additions to the Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 roster via mods, which have exploded in popularity in recent months. So many characters were being added, in fact, that prolific fighting game YouTuber Maximilian Dood offered a $5,000 bounty to anyone in the community who could figure out how to expand the character select screen with more slots in order to fit them all.

Characters added to the game during the modding spree include Asura from Asura's Wrath, Captain Commando as he appeared in previous MvC games, and versions of Captain Marvel and Ultron imported from Marvel Vs. Capcom Infinite.
