The promotional material was found on the back of instruction booklets for the 2014 Hobbit Lego sets. The art features three characters: Bilbo, Thorin, and Gandalf with what appears to be The Lonely Mountain in the background.

Lego: Lord of the Rings was released in fall 2012. Developed by Traveller's Tales, the game was an adaptation of Peter Jackson's three Lord of the Rings films.

It is possible that Warner Bros. is treating its rumored Hobbit game the same way, telling the story of all three films in one game. A WB representative was not immediately available to comment.

The Hobbit: There and Back Again, the third and final Hobbit film from Jackson, hits theaters in December 2014. An all-new Lord of the Rings game called Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is currently in development at Monolith Productions, though no release date has been set yet.

Lego: The Hobbit would not be the first game based on J.R.R. Tolkien's fantasy novel. Vivendi published The Hobbit in 2003 for GameCube, PlayStation 2, and Xbox. In addition, mobile game company Kabam released free-to-play games The Hobbit: Kingdoms of Middle-earth and The Hobbit: Armies of the Third Age last year.
