Lego Star Wars was the first big hit Lego game, spawning multiple sequels that ultimately spanned the entire nine-movie series. But now that the Skywalker Saga has concluded, TT Games is giving it a fresh take with a completely new game, titled Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. We got our first look at the new approach with a debut trailer at Gamescom.

The trailer showed a variety of scenes from every movie in the series, many of them framed cinematically. But it still offered the occasional gameplay glimpses, including third-person melee and shooter combat and revised space combat. Plus, of course, it included tons of cute Lego gags.

With so many movie stories included, this Lego Star Wars game is shaping up to be massive, with a roster of almost 500 characters. For more details check out our Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga pre-order guide.
