The Last Of Part 1 on PC has received yet another hotfix looking to address a number of issues ranging from crashes to "unintended character behavior."

In the official patch notes, Naughty Dog encourages players using Nvidia 30-series graphics cards to update their drives to version 531.58, and includes a message "directly from Nvidia'' that says players using GeForce RTX 30 series GPUs may encounter random crashes.

The hotfix itself looks to address other instances of the game crashing, which have been a major complaint among PC users on Steam, where the game currently sports "Mixed" user reviews. Naughty Dog notes that the hotfix addresses UI/UX issues, unintended character behavior for both playable characters and NPCs, and includes additions to diagnostic support. Below are additional fixes listed in the patch notes.

  • Fixed an issue which could cause the Xbox controller stick inputs to erroneously read as zeros for brief periods of time
  • Fixed an issue where the 'Reset to Default' function in the Graphics menu under Settings could make improper selections
  • Fixed an issue where the HUD performance monitors could impact performance when enabled
  • Fixed an issue where a crash could occur when using [ALT+ENTER] to toggle between Fullscreen and Windowed modes
  • Fixed an issue where a memory crash could occur during the transition from the end of the game into the credits sequence
  • Fixed an issue that could cause a crash while the game launched
  • Added additional crash report logs to provide further insight for developers

Naughty Dog in the patch notes makes clear that it and partner Iron Galaxy are "closely watching player reports" and will look to deliver more updates soon.

"We are actively optimizing, working on game stability, and implementing additional fixes which will all be included in regularly released future updates," the patch notes read.

The Last of Us Part I on PC has been heavily criticized for its crashes, lackluster technical performance, and glitches (like this one where characters appear wet for no discernable reason). Naughty Dog has said it is currently prioritizing technical fixes for The Last of Us Part 1 before submitting the title for Steam Deck verification.
