Latest Jumanji Sequel Image Reveals a Trio of Karen Gillans (Sort of)
Three times a lady.
The Jumanji sequel is filming in the jungles of Hawaii, and the cast members continue to release on-set pictures and videos. Following Kevin Hart's exposé of Jack Black's rice-based production problems, co-star Karen Gillan has now posted an image on Instagram of herself alongside two stunt-doubles. Check it out below:
The rather minimal clothing worn by Gillan has caused some controversy, with star Dwayne Johnson stating that "our dope '90s vintage costumes will all make sense when our plot's revealed." Gillan herself weighed in on the issue, tweeting: "Yes I'm wearing child sized clothes and YES there is a reason! The pay off is worth it, I promise!"
Last week, it was reported that the the movie's storyline is to center upon a quartet of high school kids who find themselves drawn into the Jumanji game while on detention. The adult actors are the game representations of the teens.
It has been rumored that the movie will feature a video game version of Jumanji, but there has been no confirmation of this from the studio or filmmakers.
The new Jumanji was first announced in April, and it was presumed that it would be a reboot of the much-loved '90s movie. However, Johnson subsequently revealed that the film would in fact be a sequel.
Jake Kasdan, the son of legendary Star Wars writer Lawrence Kasdan, is directing. The film opens on July 28, 2017.
