Last Chance to Score Discounts On Switch, PS4 Exclusives Get Great Discounts In GameStop's Spring Sale
GameStop has kicked off its Spring Sale, featuring discounts on PS4, Xbox One, and Switch games, including first-party titles like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
Though spring is here, many of us are spending a lot of time in our homes practicing social distancing. But while we may not be able to enjoy the pleasant weather as much as we'd like, digital storefronts and retailers are still celebrating the arrival of the new season with spring game sales. GameStop is the latest retailer to launch its Spring Sale, which offers great discounts on PS4, Xbox One, and Switch games. GameStop's Spring Sale runs until tomorrow, April 11, but it's possible some of the really great deals will sell out early.
Some of the best deals in GameStop's Spring Sale are on Nintendo Switch games. First-party titles including The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, and Splatoon 2 are on sale for $40 each. While we saw Breath of the Wild cheaper than $40 on Black Friday, it's rarely available for under $50. Splatoon 2 and Tropical Freeze discounts are more rare, with the former being one of the best multiplayer games on Switch and the latter standing as one of the best side-scrollers on Switch.
More Spring Sales
Multiple PS4 exclusives are also discounted during the Spring Sale. One of last year's most-talked-about games, Death Stranding, is 50% off at $30. If you haven't gotten around to Insomniac's stellar Marvel's Spider-Man, the Game of the Year Edition featuring all three expansions is just $20.
A handful of multi-platform 2019 hits see sizable discounts, too. Respawn's great action-adventure Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is on sale for $40, Need for Speed Heat is $30, and Resident Evil 2 is down to $20. Mortal Kombat 11 is available for just $17, but it's the Deal of the Day (April 6 only), so you have to act fast.
While Nintendo Switch consoles have been extremely hard to find in recent weeks, GameStop currently has a Switch bundle for $500 that ships April 30. The bundle comes with the console, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Breath of the Wild, Minecraft, and a Pro controller. All told, the bundle's retail value is $520, so it's a decent deal if you were planning on getting all (or most) of the bundle's contents down the line.
