Earlier this month, Ubisoft gave away the excellent platformer Rayman Legends as part of the World Health Organization's Play Apart Together social distancing campaign promoting video games. And now Ubisoft is giving away a new free game from one of its most popular franchises. Assassin's Creed 2 is free to claim until tomorrow, April 17 at 9 AM (your local time) on PC via Uplay.

Though Assassin's Creed 2 is more than 10 years old at this point, it remains one of the best games in the prolific franchise. Assassin's Creed 2 introduced players to Ezio, a beloved protagonist that starred in the next two entries in the series, Brotherhood and Revelations, as well.

It earned a 9/10 in GameSpot's Assassin's Creed 2 review. "This is the rare sequel that offers fans of the original the basics they would expect, while adding and changing so many other aspects that even those who didn't appreciate the first should take the plunge, without hesitation," critic Kevin VanOrd wrote.

Ubisoft is also hosting an Assassin's Creed franchise sale. The two most recent entries in the series are steeply discounted. Assassin's Creed Odyssey's Ultimate Edition is down to $39.60 (was $120) and Assassin's Creed Origins is $15 (was $60). If you want to complete Ezio's saga, Brotherhood is $6.80 and Revelations is $8. You can also get the Assassin's Creed Animus Pack, which includes every Assassin's Creed game, for $148.40 (valued at $530).

Assassin's Creed 2 is far from the only free game available right now. We've been keeping track of every free game publishers and storefronts are giving away.
