Last Chance To Claim Your Three Free Games With PlayStation Plus (February 2020)

PlayStation Plus brings three PS4 games for February.

We still have a bit of time to wait before some of the big games of 2020--like Doom Eternal, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and Final Fantasy VII Remake--release, but there's always that backlog, right? To help you work through it, PlayStation Plus is offering some pretty cool games to play right now. February 2020's free games with PlayStation Plus are BioShock: The Collection and The Sims 4, as well as popular PSVR shooter Firewall Zero Hour. However, you only have until tomorrow to claim them, since March's lineup of free PS4 games is just around the corner.

BioShock: The Collection includes the original BioShock, its direct sequel BioShock 2, and BioShock Infinite in their remastered forms, along with all their DLC. Although a new BioShock is still a long way off, each of these is great in its own right, and well worth a playthrough.

Now Playing: Free PS4 PlayStation Plus Games For February 2020 Revealed

The Sims 4 is the latest entry in EA's long-running simulation franchise. In our original 6/10 review though, The Sims 4 was criticized for its cramped structure and removal of several series features, but has since endured with numerous expansions and content packs.

Firewall Zero Hour is exclusively for PSVR, where you and three other players can tackle tactically demanding shooter situations via online multiplayer. It supports the PSVR Aim controller for increased precision, but can be played with standard DualShock 4 controllers too.

All three games are available until the first Tuesday of next month, which falls on March 3. Expect March's PS Plus games to go live then. As always, the games will be available in your library until your subscription lapses.

PS Plus Free Games for February 2020

  • BioShock: The Collection (available 2/4-3/3)
  • The Sims 4 (available 2/4-3/3)
  • Firewall Zero Hour (available 2/4-3/3)

Bioshock isn't really my thing but it seems popular for some reason. Got Sims 4 on PC.

A good value bunch of games. . . just not really for me this month.

@analgrin: If you feel Bioshock is not your thing, I am not sure you have really even tried it. It is more then just mind numbing 'bro' games that came out for the 7th gen consoles, more then just horror games, more then just an adventure game.

For the time, 13yrs ago, Bioshock was amazing on so many levels. The themes : howard hughs, ann rhine, and 2000 leagues under sea like world where the commentary on everything from race, class-ism, to our humans involvement in evolution while the merits of evolution were still be argued. A back ground of architecture called neo-classical style of gaudy Roman columns, statues, busts, and flourishes that adorned the roaring 20's style of lavish extremes that only a Howard Hughes wanna be could envision. A score of the 30's jazz and blues that fit in any LA Noire radio broadcast becomes even more eerie by the echoes of water soaked hallways and crackling mono-sound radios.

The combat has been reviewed many times over, a better FPS form of a horror genre that is as smooth as silk, allows clear vision of the screen with minimal HUD, and the best puzzle implementation of the time. I especially like 2's enemy groups and the big daddys.

But it was the story, in every one of them that held your hand through a fantasy as deep as the Mythago woods novels. It draws you in, fills you with dread, claustrophobia, and then wonderment of its fantasy which repeats like a SRPG game in its combat/reward plot flow. While the first Bioshock was strongly toward the protagonist vs antagonist, B2 and B3 stretch the legs much more. Still all three were so good, that only judging them against each other is fair. While there are soo many little things, one of my favorite memories was the end of Bioshock 2, when the hero who had seen the world through the little sisters eyes, then saw his end as an old man surrounded by grown up little sisters around his death bed. It was so incredibly touching ... and to get these games free.... is amazing.

here is a smart quick review of the last game that also talks about the others, No spoilers, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TaAx4kpH_V4 Escapist big picture, shock treatment.

@jenovaschilld: I bought the original Bioshock on PC the day it came out. I read lots of previews which hyped it up, I think too much. I went in thinking I was going to be amazed but to me it just never quite lived up to the hype, sure there were some cool graphical effects, water being one of them but I found the textures weren't anything special for the time, on PC anyway.

I ran into a few bugs straight away, gun noises sounded weird. I used a headset to play and relied on 3D audio to tell where noises were coming from but this was broken, couldn't tell where any noises were coming from at all.

When I met that woman near the start who's talking to the pram I killed her, she fell against the pram and became part of it and they both rattled non stop all over the floor as the physics went mental trying and failing to separate them.

After a few hours I just wasn't feeling it. Stopped playing until a few updates later but I got to the about the same place again and was bored again and had ran into some issues again.

Didn't try B2 but B3 was highly praised (I read many reviews) so I thought I'd try that on PC. Once again got a few hours in and I was bored. The opening of B3 just seemed very generic to me. Enemies, at the start at least, are very scripted turning up a the same moments from the same places. It all seemed old school to me.

I'm sure the games get better the further in you get but they don't do enough to reel me in at the start.

I have tried them again now on PS+ and nothing has changed. They just don't do anything for me. Although they don't really stand a chance on console as I'm not a fan of using controllers for first person shooters.

Like I say, getting all 3 games is great value if you like them. They're just not for me.

@analgrin: Yeah these games are no where near as tight as FPS, like COD. And enemy placement is more about storyline advancement then where you can pick them off. But they never claimed to be straight forward FPS at all.

@sladakrobot: Base Sims 4 game is maybe fun for a short while. But the game really shines when you have the DLC. I actually bought all the DLC on my Xbox One. And i spend a total of 150 bucks for everything. These however were bought when the DLC went on sale. If you buy them without the discount you're looking at 300.

@DeadPhoenix86: Yeah,i saw Sims 4 several times on sales on Xbox aswell and was tempted since i never played any Sim game before and thought Sim 4 could be the one to jump on.
These numerous expansions scared me off to be honest at the end.

@sladakrobot: I bought the Base game for 7.50 back in November of 2018. And slowly i picked up few DLC when they went on sale. As of December 2019, i bought the last pack. Wanted to get it original on PC, but it didn't have controller support, so i decided to get the Xbox One version instead.

@onehitta323: Seriously..."Bioshock,here i come" LMAO
Are you really telling us you never player Bioshock 1+2 before?
Who is going to believe you that?
If Bioshock were a GWG title, your comment would be like:
"Another GWG garbage game everyone played before to death and you can buy for 3-5$ each on Amazon"
But we get how you tick...if both,PS PLus and GWGs,offerings were sh*t,you would say the PS Plus sh*t tastes better ;-)

@sladakrobot: I've actually never played the bioshock games so looking forward to this. Your comment seems to come out of left field, just enjoy games and don't be a fanboy. I understand you probably get annoyed with other fanboys, but the original comment here had nothing negative to say or didn't take shots at anyone. Not sure why you're so triggered.

@philip6k: My post was aimed at onehitta not at other gamers or the Playstation.
The original comment is:"Way better than what GOLD(ie-XBOX Games with Gold) is offering AS USUAL". I hope you see where i am coming from.
Everyone who is objective, knows that there bad and good months on both plattforms but he is only about toxic comments. If you would take your time, with few clicks you can check his post history(99% in Xbox related articles) and read what he is writing.
Why i am triggered is why he is still allowed to post comments,he is not good for the gaming community

PS-If you never played Bioshock, its a good game, its worth of trying it out and have fun.

@sladakrobot: no I've never played any of the bioshock games. I don't have sims 4 either, and I could always use another VR game. So it's a great month for me. You seem angry over that. Unlike GWG, PS Plus gives you the big games that people actually want. Not games that people never heard of. Take some notes Microsoft, maybe you will sell some consoles then.

@onehitta323: First, its very unlikely that you havent played any Bioshock since you claim you was big on X360 and PS3...there is no way you didnt played them. Bioshock was a big name back then, great scores and all that.
Further,Sony offers games ppl actually want? Was there a survey i missed?
Here AND in the GWG article, ppl say they want to play these upcoming games...so both offer games ppl WANT to play.
Bioshock is not a Sony IP,what have sales of a console to do with an old 3rd party game offered on a subscription service?

@sladakrobot: Since you're one of my stalkers then you would know I haven't played any bioshock games or ever said that I have played them. You seem very angry and triggered by that. I don't blame you though, considering your GWG months have been looking horrid.

@onehitta323: I dont to stalk you...you appear always in Xbox related articles to write bad about MS ,Xbox or users who prefer Xbox as their main gaming plattform. I see it this way... you are "stalking" xbox articles and i happen to be there so of course i see your toxic comments over the whole article.

It always goes like this:you write something bad about xbox, another person critisize you and you reply always like "did i trigger a xbox fanboy?"

You are not here to have any reasonable convo about a topic with other members here...You are here always to provokate.

You can always send me your Gamertag in a private message so i could see your gaming history if you are not afraid of criticism in future when you post something about games.

PS-I see you edited your comment and added Sims 4 and the other game to your games of interest...really? Trying to make yourself look better?

@sladakrobot: ok Mr. Creepy stalker. Like I've said before, it's a great month for me. Once again, I've never played bioshock and I'm looking forward to trying it. I don't have that VR game or sims 4. So I will gladly take it. Also, since you must know every little thing I do, I edited it because I forgot to add that I didn't have those other games so that's another reason why I was happy with what sony was offering. I didn't know it was a crime to edit a post if you forgot to add something in after you sent it . That's another reason why you're a creepy stalker. There's really nothing to argue about. If you're triggered because of those things then I don't know what else to tell ya lol.

@aross2004: Because there are other games outside of Bioshock that I want to play and unless you can predict the future of psplus games, I'm a schmuck who can't, and has it on his backlog. That is a good question though, because why would YOU think I would spend the money to rent a single game that I can get for free? It's a service, I can get other games. Sorry, but this whole thing is just, duh? I think you read it wrong tbh.

Thankfully the rumour that Crash Bandicoot trilogy was one of this month's games was untrue. A pretty good lineup all in all and I'm appreciative of the bonus PSVR game too.

@alastor529: Yeah same here what so bad on all the platforms I own I have yet to finish Bioshock. Bioshock games are excellent but the constant buying of games has caused me to put more and more games on the back burner. I have such an backlog of games I may never get to most of them before the balloon burst :)) I am trying to slow down and I am getting very picky now I subscribe to both PSN and Xbox Ultimate as it contains both Gold and Game Pass and differ in what is offered. I only buy the game for one platform as I find it an waste of money to buy for all platforms and will pick it up for the others when free to play as long as my Sub is active.
