Now Playing: PS5 Price Will Be "Appealing" - GS News Update

The latest PlayStation mega sale is upon us--the annual Golden Week sale launched Friday on PSN (North America only), offering hundreds of game and DLC discounts up to 65% off (and 75% off for PS Plus members), including titles for PS4, PS3, PS Vita, and PSP.

The Golden Week sale is a nod to the week of national holidays celebrated this time of year in Japan and features Japanese-made (or Japanese-inspired) games, including popular series like Resident Evil, Persona, Dark Souls, and Dragon Quest. The sale will run until Tuesday, May 7 at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET.

It's a good week to put your PS Plus membership to use: In addition to greater discounts on Golden Week deals, there's also a huge sale on hundreds of PS4 games and DLC going on right now that's exclusive to PS Plus members. Be sure to check it out before it ends Tuesday, April 30. Steam's Golden Week Sale also launched this week with thousands of PC games marked down--that sale runs until May 6.

I'm always seeing flash sales on the PS Store. Luckily I'm in the UK so I haven't spent a penny. My Steam library is still increasing however :DDD

Avatar image for Marky360

I looked I didn't see anything good in this sale at least nothing I didn't already own.

I was complaining about the latest PS sale, that the content was pretty blah, and that their usual golden sale were so much better. I take it all back. This 2019 golden sale is even better then I could hope. This is just the first part of the golden sale and so many great games rpg, etc - very nice sale. Grab as many FF titles as you can, and enjoy. - who wants to go outside this summer and get all sweaty ... . when you can be playing Suikoden 3 for just for just $3!

Yes its absolute trash

How come the US store seems to be getting new sales constantly lately, while the EU store has been stuck with the same sale for several weeks now? They're already just copying whatever sale's going on in the US store anyway.

Avatar image for jcogopogo

@Atzenkiller: cuz Merica

Avatar image for jsprunk

@Atzenkiller: Well the EU has free healthcare, so kind of equals out.

Avatar image for gns

@jsprunk: "free healthcare", you mean having to pay x amount every month, and that amount becomes bigger and bigger every year do to the raise of minimum wage? And it is very questionable, what you get for having to pay health care taxes. That free health care?

Avatar image for jcogopogo

@gns: hey man don't ruin it , free is free right?

not here in Canada lmao free is pretty much 70% of each dollar you make

but free sounds betta

Avatar image for Marky360

Hey at least you get Healthcare outta the deal here in the US they scratch and claw half my damn check and I am hard pressed to see what the **** I actually get out of it lol.

Avatar image for jsprunk

@Marky360: Exactly. I’ve paid over $10,000 in healthcare costs out of pocket this year while my insurance company only put out $2000. And that’s not even mentioning my $500 per month premium.

Avatar image for Atzenkiller

@jsprunk: Which part of the EU are you referring to? Or did you just hear that somewhere? Here in Germany we have mandatory health care. Only if you earn very little, like up to 450€ per month, is it "free" because then the government pays for it. But if you're above that while still earning little you're fucked, because now you have to pay a few hundred bucks per month for health insurance. Whether you ever use it or not and your state of health don't affect it at all, either.

I hope they offer different games every day. People here kept saying Golden Week was such a great sale.

Avatar image for just1mohr

Is this just a sample of the games on sale, or are there even more games on sale?

Avatar image for ronthallsballs

Sale fuckin’ sucks. Suck my ballls Sony!

Avatar image for Barighm

@ronthallsballs: These mass sales usually aren't very good. Same for when Xbox does it.

Publisher sales tends to be much better.

Avatar image for Atzenkiller

@Barighm: You mean the Ubisoft and EA sales that are happening frequently? Really?

Avatar image for srfilk86

10% off is kind of a slap in the face to be honest. Yuck.

Avatar image for Martin_Pagan

Not very attractive discounts, tbh.

Avatar image for nikolistary

Most Japanese games are for nerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrds.

Nothing here for me. Although if you suffer from insomnia, play 2064: ROM. 10 minutes of playing that game and you'll be snoozing like a passed out drunk at a bar.

Avatar image for Ohaidere

@nikolistary: Guess I'm one happy nerd then.

Avatar image for jsprunk

@nikolistary: Neerrrrrrrrrrrrddddsssss!!!!!!

Avatar image for Pyrosa

@jsprunk: I don't know if anyone still gets that reference anymore. ;)

Avatar image for jsprunk

@Pyrosa: I agree. People couldn't handle Ogre today.
