Last Chance: Free Legendary Pokemon For Ultra Sun And Moon

We're well into June, and the start of a month means another free Legendary Pokemon is now available for Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. The Pokemon Company is continuing its Year of Legendary Pokemon giveaway with another limited-time freebie for all seventh-gen Pokemon games, and this time it's another Legendary from the Kalos region: Zygarde. [Update: This promotion doesn't run for the entire month; it expires on June 24, giving you only a little more time to secure a code for your freebie.]

Unlike all of the past distributions this year, which offered a different Pokemon depending on which version you're playing, all players will receive the same Legendary this time around. What makes this Zygarde special, however, is that it's a Shiny, which is very difficult to obtain through normal play.

Once again, the download code will be available in the US through a specific retailer. This time, players will be able to pick one up at participating GameStop stores from June 1-24. Those in Europe and Australia, meanwhile, will be able to receive the Legendary via Mystery Gift over the Nintendo Network.

While the Legendary you can receive this month remains consistent across games, it'll come equipped with a rare Gold Bottle Cap if you redeem it in either Ultra Sun or Ultra Moon. Similarly, Zygarde will come at a different level and know a different moveset in the newer titles. You can see its attacks in each version below.

To redeem your download code, select Mystery Gift from the games' main menu and choose the option to receive your gift via code/password. Input your code and the Pokemon will be downloaded into your game. (Players in Europe and Australia will simply choose the option to receive your gift via internet instead.) You can then pick the Legendary up from the deliveryman waiting inside any Pokemon Center.

Zygarde is only the latest free Legendary players could get this year, as The Pokemon Company has been giving away a different Pokemon every month in 2018. Next month, players will be able to get either Tornadus or Thundurus from Pokemon Black and White. Until then, you can see all of the free Pokemon available for Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon right now.
