I'm in an old car, vroom vroom.

The end of the month is fast approaching which means time is running out to snag the latest set of PS4 games available to PlayStation Plus members for July 2019. As a PS Plus subscriber, you can add the games to your PlayStation account, which will make them available to download and play for as long as you maintain your subscription. However, in an unusual move, Sony changed the games lineup for July at the last minute, revealing just hours before the games became available that one was being swapped out.

In terms of sheer numbers, it's a change for the better, as it's a two-for-one package. In effect, you're getting a total of three games this month, rather than the usual two that we've seen since PS3 and Vita games were dropped from the monthly lineup.

Now Playing: Free PS4 PlayStation Plus Games For July 2019 Out Now

While Pro Evolution Soccer 2019 was originally part of the offering for July, Sony announced that the sports game would be swapped out for Detroit: Become Human's Digital Deluxe edition. That edition also includes Quantic Dream's Heavy Rain. However, PS Plus subscribers were left in the dark as to why the swap occurred.

"We are making a swap to the PS Plus games lineup for July," the announcement read. "This month, we are adding Detroit: Become Human Digital Deluxe Edition, which also includes Heavy Rain, to the July games lineup instead of Pro Evolution Soccer 2019. We apologize for any inconvenience."

Detroit: Become Human is Quantic Dream's most recent narrative adventure. The game is set in a futuristic world where androids have become an integral part of society, yet are treated as sub-human servants to the human population. Detroit has you play as three different androids, switching between each of their stories periodically, and like other Quantic Dream games, you'll be thrown into quick-time events and forced to make many decisions along the way that deeply influence how the story plays out.

"As a result of the myriad crossroads in Detroit, few players will experience events in the exact same way," wrote GameSpot's Peter Brown in his Detroit: Become Human review. "Pivotal moments gone awry can lead some characters to premature deaths, but even small deviations can have a lasting impact on the state of the people, places and events you encounter throughout. Many of the decisions may seem mundane at first, but however benign a choice may seem, they add up, and gradually draw you into each character's individual experience."

A classic of the story-driven genre, Heavy Rain, is also included as a bundle with Detroit. This interactive tale also puts in you in the shoes of multiple characters, but this time, they're all investigating the same mysterious case: a series of murders committed by the "Origami Killer," who drowns young boys in rainwater and leaves an orchid and an origami figure nearby. Although known for some comical glitches on PS3, Heavy Rain is a story worth experiencing, especially with its upgraded PS4 port.

Finally, PS Plus members can still claim Horizon Chase Turbo, which is described on the PlayStation Blog as "a love-letter to the iconic, just-one-more-go racers of the arcade's golden age." It harkens back to classics like Out Run and Top Gear. The retro-inspired racing game includes split-screen multiplayer for up to four players as well as online competitive modes. While Horizon Chase Turbo may not be familiar to you, it's available at no additional cost if you're already paying for PlayStation Plus, so worth taking a shot on anyway.

Detroit: Become Human Digital Deluxe Edition and Horizon Chase Turbo will be available for free from July 2 until August 5.
