Kratos kills more deities before 9 a.m. than most people do all day, but even an usurper to the God of War mantle needs a day off every now and then. Today, SCEA associate producer Chris Hinojosa-Miranda revealed on the PlayStation Blog what the ashen-skinned Ghost of Sparta likes to do with his spare time, announcing he will be haunting the links later this week in Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds for the PlayStation 3.

Starting Thursday, gamers will be able to download Kratos from the PlayStation Network and hit the links with his Clubs of Chaos. The result of collaboration between Hot Shots studio Clap Hanz and the God of War development team, Kratos features original, golf-appropriate animation and voice-acting provided by T.C. Carson.

This might not be the next-generation debut fans had in mind for Kratos, but it might have to tide them over for a while. Sony's action icon will definitely be returning in God of War III, but Sony hasn't confirmed a release date for that project. Although some footage was briefly shown at the E3 Media &: Business Summit, recent rumors put its earliest possible launch window as holiday 2009.
