The game, which is being developed by EgoSoft, is an open-ended space flight and trading simulation that features elements of exploration and combat.

"We are incredibly excited to have signed X2 as part of our 2003 lineup," said Kerri Davies, commercial director of Koch Media. "EgoSoft's incredible attention to detail and continuing innovations of gameplay reflect the ongoing quality of games to be published by Koch Media."

"X2 will be the next major evolution in space games and will give a new meaning to the phrase freedom of gameplay," said Bernd Lehahn, CEO of EgoSoft. "After eight years of development on the X series of games, we are happy to work together with Koch Media on this exciting release."
