Netflix has announced more details on the next Knives Out film, including new story information, a release date, and images.

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery will be released in theaters (at a date to be announced later) before coming to Netflix around the world on December 23, Netflix announced.

The sequel from writer-director Rian Johnson focuses on detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig), who heads to Greece to solve another mystery involving a new cast of characters.

Edward Norton plays a tech billionaire named Miles Bron who invites his "nearest and dearest" friends on a trip to his private island in Greece. Someone turns up dead, of course, and Blanc is called in to help solve the case.

In addition to Craig and Norton, Glass Onion features Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Jessica Henwick, Madelyn Cline, Kate Hudson, and Dave Bautista

The title Glass Onion is a reference to the 1968 Beatles song of the same name. "I'll be very honest. I literally got out my iPhone and searched my music library with the word 'glass,'" Johnson told Netflix's Tudum. "There's got to be some good glass songs.I was like, 'Oh, is it a glass fortress? Is it a glass castle? Is it a glass man?' The first thing that came up, because I'm a huge Beatles fan, is 'Glass Onion.'"

Netflix bought the rights to multiple Knives Out sequels for hundreds of millions of dollars. Johnson and Craig are each reportedly getting paid $100 million for the movies.
