Kingdom Hearts 2.8 was first announced in September, bewildering many with its odd name (even by Kingdom Hearts standards). Director Tetsuya Nomura has since explained the name factors in the numbers for several other games and, using some strange math, brings us to the number 2.8.

The game includes a high-definition remake of Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance, Kingdom Hearts X Back Cover, and Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep 0.2.

The most recent entry into the Kingdom Hearts series was Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX, which was released in December 2014 exclusively for PlayStation 3.

The long awaited Kingdom Hearts III, meanwhile, was first revealed during E3 2013, but Square Enix is yet to announce a release date.
