King Joffrey Actor Headed Back To TV, In A Role Where You Won't Hate Him

Joffrey Baratheon (Lannister), Game of Thrones' snotty, bratty, sociopathic boy-king, is one of the most-hated characters in television history. Starring on the HBO series for years, the actor behind the character, Jack Gleeson, took a break from acting after his character met his end. Now, Gleeson is returning to TV in a new BBC comedy called Out of Her Mind.

The six-part comedy is coming to BBC Two, according to the BBC. The full cast was announced for the show, along with a synopsis, which reads, "Out Of Her Mind is explores heartbreak, family and how to survive them. The series subverts the traditional sitcom format by combining eccentric characters, animation, and scientific explanation."

The series stars and is written by comedian Sara Pascoe. "Out Of Her Mind is a direct expression of my mind," Pascoe explained in a press release. "We've turned my brain into a theme-park, and everyone's invited! The cast are incredible, and I can't wait for people to see what we've made."

Gleeson is listed in the casting announcement along with a laundry list of other actors including Juliet Stevenson (Riviera, One of Us, Truly Madly Deeply), Fiona Button (The Split), Cariad Lloyd (Crims, Peep Show), Adrian Edmondson (Summer Of Rockets, The Young Ones), and more. There's no info on who Gleeson will play on the series, but it's very safe to say you won't hate him nearly as much as you hated Joffrey. No way.

After Joffrey met his fate in 2014 on Game of Thrones, the actor needed a break, as the then 21-year-old had been working for 13 years. "I've been acting since age 8," Gleeson told Entertainment Weekly. "I just stopped enjoying it as much as I used to. When you make a living from something, it changes your relationship with it. It's not like I hate it, it's just not what I want to do." Gleeson played the sympathetic kid that talked to Batman in Batman Begins.

There is no premiere date announcement as of this writing for BBC Two's Out of Her Mind.
